Customers are asked to contact PUC Customer Care should they experience discoloured water or any unusual change in water quality.
PUC water customers are advised that the Unidirectional Flushing (UDF) Program for 2016 is under way in the north end of the city.
Customers are encouraged to visit the PUC website at regular updates and to see a map(s) of the flushing area.
The UDF Program is performed in order to remove sediment from within the city’s watermains and is a recognized industry best practice for improving water quality. Marie’s 9,050 High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) streetlights to the more efficient Light Emitting Diode (LED) fixtures is nearing completion.
As a result, PUC is beginning the field verification process for the new LED streetlights, ensuring the light levels comply with industry standards.
This verification process involves crews working on roadways overnight, PUC is reminding drivers to exercise caution while travelling through any marked worksites.
